Invitation to participate in the SOFIA User's Group



The Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy (SOFIA) invites
members of the astronomical community to join the SOFIA User's Group.
This group will advise the Science Mission Operations Director on
issues including but not limited to

+ Proposal Call Documentation
+ Observer support (helpdesk, workshops)
+ Outreach to the scientific community
+ Assessing and reporting performance of the observatory and instruments
+ Observation preparation tools
+ Data analysis methods
+ Judging, and Maximizing, the scientific impact of the observatory

We are looking for 10 members, with at least 2 from Germany and 2 on
SOFIA instrument teams, to serve for 3 year terms, meeting
approximately twice per year. Members will be chosen to span
scientific fields, geographical regions, type of involvement with
SOFIA, and institution type (universities, research centers, and
representation from sister institutions such as NOAO, NRAO, IPAC,
STScI).
